Front Door

01-09-2012 - We have been storing the front door so it wouldn't get damaged with the plaster installation. Now that the plaster is 99% finished we put the front door on, and installed the lock.

We went with a Hume Pivot door, Model XS24 in the Savoy range.. It wasn't the cheapest door and frame, but was custom made to suit the opening, and will come up really nice after its stained.

We are still looking for pull handle options.. I'm thinking the Polo at 900mm long.

More Plaster

19-08-2012 - Most of the Plaster has been hung, and stopped off. Square set cornice is 99% installed, just waiting on Boral Sydney 90mm cornice to show up.
Dennis and I finished putting in all the eave battens and hangers, and installed some eave sheets along the outdoor area.

Plaster Started

8-8-2012 - After a huge weekend getting all the insulation installed the plaster has started to be hung.
Also the long awaited Ezy Cav Clearview cavity slider units from Axiom showed up. These should give a nice hidden cavity slider look

Eaves Started & Garage Door Supports

07-08-2012 - Dennis and I battened out for the eaves around the front door and hung some sheets. We were fairly particular about getting the sheets symmetrical, which in turn made them incredibly hard to hang. The 4 sheets took about 2 hours, not the most efficient, but i think they turned out really well.

The plasters will hang plaster board in the middle section and finish off the corners.

We also put up some support for the B&D pannel lift door in the garage before the plaster was hung. This should make installation of the doors easier.

Insulation

6-08-2012 - All the brick laying has been completed and the plastering is starting this Tuesday.
Mum, my little sister and her boyfriend helped all weekend to get all the wall batts and also 2 meters ceiling batts around the external walls installed. All other bags of ceiling batts were put up in the roof area to make installation easier after the plaster is finished.

We ended up using rolls of Earthwool in the external walls instead of the standard size batts. Given the larger wall heights this made installation a lot easier as we could cut each insulation sheet to the correct height.

Data Cabling

6-08-2012 - Three and half boxes of CAT6, (about 750 meters) was run through the house. I ran a cantenary wire to support the CAT6 as each run when from one end of the house to the other.

Wall supports

4-08-2012 - Most of the day was spent putting in timber supports for TV brackets, frameless shower screens, shower heads, and toilet roll holders. We have also started putting in some wall insulation
