Doors and Hotwater

30-06-2012 - DLG came back and installed the glass doors for the two big sliders.

The plumbers also came back and installed the Apricus evacuated tube hot water service. We decided to go with the 30 tube system and a 315 litre storage tank.

James continued on with the brick around the south side of the house and the back of the garage.





Bath

26-06-2012 - I took a bit of time today and made up a bath frame out of some of the left of steel from the frames and trusses.. I also made up a fake wall with a niche in the ensuite shower.

Front door.

26-06-2012 - Bricks under the outdoor area all finished, and the front of the house started.

Our incredible expensive front door and frame showed up, we have left the door uninstalled until the plaster is finished to avoid any damage to it.

Services Rough-in..

17-06-2012 - Both plumbers and electricians have completed their rough-ins. We have added a few extra power point here and there, and also decided to run the main switch board in the linen store room. This will make it easier for the initial wiring, helpful to reset any tripped circuits, and also alot easier to add extra circuits later on as the board isn't on an outside wall.

We spent extra time making sure the 15mm foil board was completly sealed around all windows, doors and joins.

Our brickie has continued around the house.

3 phase mains and internal light and power point circuits

Rear roller door in the garage filled in and a double glased window fitted.

We changed the ensuite window from 600mm down to 450mm to make some extra room for the mirror.

Bricks - Yay!!

11-06-2012 - Well the last couple of weeks have been busy.
We have lined the whole house with 15mm FoilBoard insulation. We had a little trouble with the steel frame fasteners which slowed the installation down quite a bit. We ended up replacing the supplied screws with new ones on about 600 of the clips..

The Electrician and Plumbers have both been in and completed their rough in work.

9,520 Old WoodVille Boral bricks have been delivered, and our brickie has started on the brick work.
We are using a stainless steel weep hole cover all around the house, which are bush fire rated and will also prevent mice and other small insects/rodents getting in the brick cavity. (Pictures to come soon)

Windows and Doors

27-05-2012 - Our Double Glazed windows were delivered. I took a heap of photos of them before they were installed but have lost the SD card the photos are on...

Anyway, the guys from Fine Point Carpentry dropped over and got the windows and doors all setup and installed.
Turns out that I ordered the door out of the laundry and master bedroom hinged from the wrong side. A quick call to DLG and they dropped back over the picked up both doors so they can be swapped back over..
A big shout out to DLG for their flexibility and wiliness to sort out the mistake I made..
